Thank you, kind sir. My wife was looking through some of my old photos yesterday and found one of me sitting at W.B.’s grave with a daffodil in my hand in the pouring rain, me all of nineteen. So I was thinking of spring in more ways than one. Thanks for reading.

    You’re welcome.
I do so enjoy visiting your site.
Mine, in contrast, is so dark.
But then again, when you write
about Ireland’s history, sometimes we merge
and meet in a dark place.

Too true. Always good to meet a friend on the road. There is a difference between writing darkly for the sake of it, and writing from the dark because you know the place. I always leave your site feeling as I’ve spent my time wisely, and having enjoyed myself as well, strange as the latter might seem to some.

  5. My teacher once talked about Ben Bulben and that there are fairies that live there. Fascinating haiku.

Thanks for reading. All of the island has what you call fairies, especially the West. I met one once. His name was Todd. He asked me, “Do your kind listen to the minstrels of the Radiohead?” I said, “Yeah, I like Radiohead.” After that, all he would talk about was Radiohead. Weird.

      • I hear fairies are prone to neurotic behavior, so that conversation with Todd isn’t unusual. Radiohead’s Creep song is one of my favorites. What’s your favorite Radiohead song? Yeah, I’ll be just like Todd now. Ha!

“There, There” and “Karma Police” are two of my favourite Radiohead songs, but I like most of their stuff from that period. I asked Todd if he liked Queens of the Stone Age. He said, “Some of them were alright.”
I said, “No, the band. This is why you’re not getting any chicks, Todd.” After that he did alright for himself, and in return he introduced me to my future wife, who looks just like Monica Belluci, but is a Faery Queen. She’s very high maintenance.

      • I love “Karma Police” too! Hey, Monica Belluci is hot!! I wouldn’t mind meeting your wife 🙂 Haha!! Yeah, you’ve mentioned she’s high maintenance before. I’m sure she can probably say the same thing about someone else. So, if Mrs. Og looks like an actress, you must look like James Bond, right?

No, I said “future wife”. My present wife is very beautiful, but she’s a redhead. And no, I don’t look like James Bond. I’m far prettier.

      • Oh, that’s right, in Ireland you guys can have harems! 😉 Does present wife know your plans for a future wife? She may make plans for a future husband, too. Hmm. I’d love to see a photograph of OO8 Oggy Bondy.

Harems? No. The missus can do as she pleases once I’m out of the picture. I almost put a photo of myself at Yeats’s grave on this post, but decided against it. Maybe I’ll e-mail you one sometime. Then you can stop teasing me with the Bond jokes.

    Good evening my friend.
I’m trying to leave a comment on
    your poem The Laughing Academy,
but for some reason it will not show up.
Bear with me, please. I shall keep trying.
